1August 24th, 2013 - The Mid America Racing Series (MARS) competitors went toe-to-toe with the United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) drivers over the weekend with a pair of $5,000-to-win events in Kentucky and Missouri.

Action began on Friday evening at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) as 25 entries converged on the 3/8 mile oval. A 3rd place finish in his heat race locked Asplin into the 8th starting spot for the finale. Early in the feature he raced in the top ten before settling into a 12th place finish.

The team headed north on Saturday evening to Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri), where 38 entries filled the pit area at the 1/3 mile oval. A 4th place finish in his heat race transferred Justin to the finale, where he started in the 16th position. He would go on to pass two cars to finish 14th.

1August 18th, 2013 - Justin Asplin had high hopes for the weekend as he carried his recent momentum into the weekend's 21st Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas).

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event saw 55 Super Late Models register for action, and after having issues with belts in his engine in practice on Thursday night the team headed back home before returning in time for Friday's racing action.

Struggles in qualifying left Asplin starting 8th in his heat race, and he would only be able to manage to advance to a 7th place finish, which sent him to a b-main. On Saturday evening heavy rain arrived, which forced the program to be postponed to Sunday afternoon. After starting 7th in his b-main, Asplin mounted a late-race charge to challenge for the final transfer spot, but came up just short in his bid as he had to settle for a 3rd place finish. As a result his weekend came to a disappointing end.

August 10th, 2013 - Justin made the long tow to Junction Motor Speedway (McCool Junction, Nebraska) over the weekend for the 10th Annual King of the Hill Nationals, which 1was sanctioned by the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Mid America Racing Series (MARS) and the National Championship Racing Association (NCRA).

On Friday evening a $2,000-to-win program was held that drew 32 entries, and Asplin started his outing by winning his heat race to lock into the 5th starting spot for the feature. He would go on to race in the top ten throughout the event before crossing the finish line in the 6th spot behind race winner, Will Vaught, Tony Jackson Jr., Kyle Berck, Jesse Stovall, and Terry Phillips.

Saturday night found the winner's purse being increased to $3,000, and a 3rd place finish in heat race action locked Justin into the 8th starting spot for the feature. He again found himself racing in the top ten before crossing the finish line in the 7th spot.
