1July 27th, 2013 - It was a triple header weekend for Justin Asplin in the state of Missouri, and he would see a pair of chances at wins go south due to mechanical failures.

The weekend opened on Thursday evening with a $3,000-to-win race at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri), which was sanctioned by the Mid America Racing Series (MARS) Super Late Model tour. Twenty-five entries took to the 1/4 mile oval, and Asplin charged from the second row of his heat race to claim the victory, which locked him into the 2nd starting spot for the feature. Unfortunately prior to the start of the feature the team discovered a broken valve, which forced him to scratch from the balance of the program. 1On Friday night the team was slated to compete with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) tour at Midway Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri), but Mother Nature washed the program away.

Saturday evening found Asplin pitted at LA Raceway (Lamonte, Missouri) in another $3,000-to-win, Lucas Oil MLRA program, which drew a field of 25 entries. Justin began his night by winning his heat race from the pole to lock into the 6th starting spot for the feature. Early in the feature Asplin raced into the top five and was running in the 4th position, when the caution flew with just two laps left. On the ensuing restart bad luck struck as the transmission broke on his #77 entry and Asplin slipped to a disappointing 11th place finish. Full results from the event are available at

1July 20th, 2013 - Justin traveled to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) over the weekend for the 3rd Annual Silver Dollar Nationals, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Lucas Oil MLRA and posted a $27,000 winner's check.

With 55 Super Late Models entered Friday night's program was headlined by double heat races with the top twenty-one point's earners locking into the feature, while the balance of the field went to a b-main. Justin failed to transfer to the feature via heat race action, but earned the 4th starting spot for a b-main. For much of the b-main in the 3rd and final transfer spot, but would slip to a 5th place finish, which left him short of earning a spot in the feature.

Despite not getting to run the main event Asplin did earn a starting spot in the $2,700-to-win, non-qualifier's event. After starting 3rd on the grid he worked his way into the 2nd spot and began to challenge race-long leader, Jason Krohn. Late in the event it appeared Justin was on his way to a 2nd place finish, but mechanical woes late in the event sidelined him to a disappointing 12th place finish.

1July 13th, 2013 - Justin enjoyed a great outing on Friday night as he entered a $2,000-to-win program with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas). He started his night by scoring the win in his heat race to lock into the 3rd starting spot in the twenty-two car starting gird. He would race in the top five throughout the event before finishing 3rd at the checkered flag behind race winner, Jack Sullivan, and Wendell Wallace.

1July 6th, 2013 - Justin opened a busy holiday weekend on Wednesday evening with a trip to Monett Speedway (Monett, Missouri) for a $3,000-to-win event that co-sanctioned by the MARS and NCRA Super Late Model tours. Twenty-seven entries registered for action, and heat race struggles left Asplin starting at the tail of a b-main. In the b-main he advanced to a fifth place finish, which left him one spot short of transferring to the feature. As a result, he was forced to utilize a MARS provisional to start the main event in the 21st position. Despite starting deep in the field he advanced fourteen positions on his way to a 7th place finish!

On Thursday evening the action shifted to 81 Speedway (Wichita, Kansas) for another $3,000-to-win slate, which again drew a field of 27 entries. Asplin started his night by finished second in his heat race, which locked him into the feature event. During the course of the feature he raced his way to a sixth place finish behind race winner, Tony Jackson Jr., Ryan Gustin, Jesse Stovall, Terry Phillips, and Chase Junghans.

Friday night took the team to West Siloam Speedway (Siloam Springs, Oklahoma), where the MARS competitors entered the first leg of a doubleheader at the oval. One-lane track conditions throughout the night would plague the drivers, and as a result Justin was unable to advance to the feature via heat race action. A second place finish in the b-main locked Justin into the 18th starting spot for the finale. During the course of the $2,000-to-win feature he managed to advance to an 11th place finish.

West Siloam Speedway hosted the MARS competitors once again on Saturday night as the winner's purse was increased to $3,000. With 21 entries in the pits Justin earned the 12th starting spot for the feature via preliminary action. He would go on to race around mid-pack for the duration of the event before scoring a 12th place finish.
