1May 26th, 2013 - It was a busy Memorial Day weekend in the state of Missouri for Asplin Motorsports. Action began on Thursday evening with a $5,000-to-win, Lucas Oil MLRA Super Late Model Series event at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri), which served as the opening round of the 21st Annual Lucas Oil Show Me 100. A stout field of seventy-four entries were on hand for the program, and Justin failed to qualify for the finale. Full results from the event are available at www.MLRARacing.com.

On Friday night the opening round of the $30,000-to-win, 121st Annual Lucas Oil Show Me 100 was contested, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Seventy-two entries took to the 3/8 mile oval, and Justin earned the sixth starting spot in his heat race via time trials. Unfortunately he would slip to an eighth place finish, which left him starting deep in a b-main on Saturday night. In the b-main he failed to reach a transfer spot to the feature, but did earn a spot in the $2,000-to-win, Midwest Sheet Metal Non-Qualifiers feature, where he finished twentieth in the final rundown. Full results from the event are available at www.LucasDirt.com.

1The weekend concluded on Sunday evening at the historic Monett Speedway (Monett, Missouri) with the annual Tony Roper Memorial, which was highlighted by a $3,000-to-win program for the Mid America Racing Series (MARS) competitors. Twenty-eight cars entered the race, and a third place finish in his heat race transferred him to the feature, where he raced his way to an eleventh place finish in the final rundown. Full results from the event as well as complete series' standings are available at www.MARSRacingSeries.com.

May 17th, 2013 - After originally planning to compete in the 2nd Annual Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas), the team changed their plans to take their #77 Rocket/Hatfield Racing Engine Super Late Model to Monett Speedway (Monett, Missouri) on Friday night to test some new setups. Fourteen Super Late Models registered for battle in the Weekly Racing Series Event, and after starting sixth in his heat race he advanced to a third place finish, which locked him into the fourth starting spot for the feature. In the main event he advanced one spot to finish third. Full results are available at www.MonettSpeedway.net.

1May 11th, 2013 - Saturday night found the team at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) for the 7th Annual John Kuntz Memorial, which was sanctioned by the MARS Super Late Model tour. Twenty-six entries were on hand for the event, and a third place finish in his heat race locked Asplin into the twelfth starting spot for the 40 lap, $3,000-to-win finale. He raced around mid-pack throughout the finale before registering a twelfth place finish at the checkered flag.
