1October 5th, 2013 - Justin enjoyed a career outing on Saturday at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) by piloting his #77 B&A Lumber/Rocket/Hatfield Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first-ever Super Late Model victory! (Ron Mitchell Photo)

The $3,000-to-win event began on Friday evening, and was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series as a part of the inaugural Sunflower Showdown at the 1/2 mile oval. Asplin blasted to the win in his heat race to earn the 2nd starting spot for the 35 lap finale. As the event took to the oval severe weather approached and forced officials to postpone the event until Saturday afternoon.

When action resumed Asplin shot to the top spot, and never looked back as he led every lap to score the victory over Chris Simpson, James Shereck, Brad Looney, and Will Vaught.

With Friday's event complete, a new $5,000-to-win program was held on Saturday evening. Via preliminary action Asplin earned the 15th starting spot for the feature, and would go on to finish 20th.
