1January 19th, 2014 - Action resumed for Justin Asplin on Friday evening with the fourth round of the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona). A strong field of 56 entries registered for battle in the $3,000-to-win, National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) program. Time trials left Asplin starting 5th on the grid for his heat race, but he would rocket to a 2nd place finish, which locked him into the 12th starting spot for the 30 lap feature. He would go on to race around mid-pack throughout the event before crossing the line in the 14th position.

A $5,000 winner's purse awaited the victor of Saturday night's fifth round of the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme, and it would prove to be a solid outing for Asplin. With 56 entries in action Asplin started his night by qualifying 2nd fastest in his group to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for his heat race. In his heat he stormed to a dominating win, which locked him into the redraw for the feature. After being presented with the 2nd starting spot for the 40 lap finale, Asplin struggled early in the feature falling back as far as the 8th position. However, he would be rebound to race in the top five before crossing the finish line in 6th behind race winner, Jimmy Mars, John Blankenship, Billy Moyer Jr., Ryan Gustin, and Tony Jackson Jr. The finish marked his best Arizona finish to date.

The six race series drew to a close on Sunday evening with a $10,000-to-win event. With 52 entries on hand Asplin finished 2nd in his heat race to lock into the 9th starting spot for the 50 lap finale. He went on to race around mid-pack for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the 13th position. Overall it was a successful series of events for Asplin.

1January 15th, 2014 - Justin Asplin opened his 2014 season on Saturday night in his #77 B&A Lumber/Midwest Sheet Metal/Club 29/Hatfield Racing Engine Super Late Model at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) in the opening round of the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme.

A talented field of 57 entries was on hand for the program, which was sanctioned by the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL). Via time trials and the invert Asplin earned the pole starting position for his heat race, and would go on to finish 3rd to lock into the 18th starting spot for the 30 lap, $3,000-to-win feature. He would go on to advance to a 15th place finish at the checkered flag.

On Sunday afternoon the winner's share was increased to $5,000 as 54 entries returned for action, and Justin earned the 2nd starting spot for his heat race via time trials. He would go on to finish 2nd in the heat, which locked him into the 11th starting spot for the 40 lap feature. In the main event track conditions would not be conducive to passing, but Asplin would still manage to advance to a solid 9th place finish.

Asplin returned to competition on Wednesday evening with a $3,000-to-win race at Tucson that drew a field of 49 cars. It would prove to be a tough night for Asplin as struggles throughout the night left him falling short of qualifying for the feature as he missed his first main event of the week.
